On May 4^th Adam Gay, driver of the Hunt Brothers Pizza Thunder Car and Legend Car began his quest to win the Humpy’s Heroes Driver Development Program. After spending all day driving a Nationwide style car and a Camping World style truck, Adam was able to hold his own against some more experienced drivers. He also got some experience making pit stops at the Rockingham Speedway. Adam will be going to Gastonia N.C. this summer to drive a dirt late model at the Carolina Speedway. He will also be taking part in 4 races at the Summer Shootout at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

When asked about his thoughts on the program Adam replied “To be a part of the original 10 Humpy’s Heroes participants is a honor in itself. To have the guidance of Mr. Humpy Wheeler and his son Tripp along with David Ragan, Kenny Wallace, Gary Nelson, Andy Hillengburg and Roger Slack is more than a driver could ask for.

Wheeler believes in the young drivers. “We have two or three here that have the potential to go to the top” he

said. When it’s all said and done, one of the 10 will get a gold trophy and a chance to work with a cup team. They will also be interviewed on Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain.

When Adam was asked about his goal he said “My goal is to win the competition and come home with the gold” All this will wind up back at the Rockingham Speedway in August where they will drive again but this time they will be timed. We believe with Adams attitude and determination he has a very good chance of winning

Lowe’s Motor Speedway Summer Shootout Victories!!!

In the Summer of 2008, Adam Gay and TAG Motorsports took part in the Summer Shootout Series held at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C. During this time, Adam was able to win 3 of the 4 races held on the famous 1.5 mile oval at speeds of over 140MPH. Adam finished the 10 week points series in 2nd place and Won the Red, White and Blue Championship Series.

TAG Motorsports and Adam Gay would like to say “THANK YOU” to all who helped make this possible. Mr. Don Hunt and Mr. Jim Hunt of Hunt Brothers Pizza who have been a big supporter of Adam for many years. Our crew chief, Craig Bruce and his crew Mike Ferre & Michael Ferre for their work done on the car. To 600 Racing and Lowe’s Motor Speedway for putting on these races and to the competitors who took part in them. Most especially to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the safety shown during this time!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!
